In th last few years, there has been a large upswing in research activities aimed at s nthesizing artificial neural networks with other well-establisied paradigms, like evolutionary computation, fuzzy logic, rough sets and chaos. In this paper, we briefly discuss the merits of these paradigms from artificial neural networks point of view, and we illustrate haw these paradigms can be fused with the existing artificial neural network models to make the later one more efficient.
